Demand Planner
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our team. Reporting to our Head of Demand Planning, you will be instrumental in optimising inventory levels, ensuring raw material and product availability, and contributing to the overall success of our supply chain operations.
As a Demand Planner, you will play a critical role between sales, marketing, production, and logistics. You will be responsible for forecasting demand, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your analytical skills and strategic thinking will be essential in anticipating sales trends and ensuring product availability to meet our fast growing demand.
This hybrid role, 3 days a week at our Innovation Centre in Aylesbury (HP22 5WJ) and remote working, offers the chance to make a real difference in a dynamic, high-growth environment. If you’re proactive, data-driven, and thrive on collaboration, we’d love to hear from you!
Your role will involve:
- Stock Health Assurance: Develop and maintain demand plans that guarantee 100% stock health, ensuring products are readily available to meet customer demands.
- On-Time In-Full (OTIF) Delivery: Collaborate closely with production planning, logistics, and sales teams to achieve 100% On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery to customers.
- Forecast Accuracy: Utilise statistical forecasting methods and data analysis to improve forecast accuracy.
- Continuously evaluate and refine forecasting models to align with sales trends and company objectives.
- Optimising Stock Holding: Implement strategies to optimise stock holding, balancing the need for product availability with the goal of minimising excess inventory.
- Inventory Write-Off Reduction: Proactively identify and implement measures to reduce inventory write-offs, ensuring efficient and cost-effective stock management.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify gaps to improve forecast accuracy by continuously monitoring customer and market trends and adjusting forecasts to meet the demand.
What can you bring to the role?
- Substantial experience of demand planning/merchandising/forecasting experience within an FMCG environment.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive approach to identifying challenges and finding efficient solutions.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work in a fast moving environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Experience in forecasting/demand planning software is a plus.
