Management Accountant
Join Our Dynamic Finance Team
Our Finance department provides a centrally located finance function for the entire company, supporting operations across Europe and the US. We oversee all financial services, ensuring smooth processing of payments and addressing the needs of staff, customers, and suppliers in a fast-paced, growing business.
We’re now looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant. You will play a key role in supporting financial operations, delivering insightful analysis, and partnering with stakeholders to drive financial efficiency. You will be responsible for a whole business unit, assisting in managing financial operations from end to end, with day-to-day responsibilities including reconciliations and preparing reports.
In more detail, your role will include:
- Day-to-day tasks: Recording financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, payment run preparation and processing, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, processing payroll, and ensuring tax compliance.
- Variance Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of budget vs. actual performance and identify key variances, providing insights to management on financial trends and performance.
- Cost Management: Monitor and analyse cost structures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency.
- Month-End Closing: Support the month-end closing process, including posting journals, reconciling balance sheets, intercompany transactions and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as requested by senior management to support business decisions.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the month and during the month-end closing process to ensure all necessary information is gathered, variances are explained, and financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Audit Support: Support external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Team Collaboration: Assist and support other team members in their tasks, ensuring consistency and accuracy in financial reporting, and helping to maintain high standards across all accounting functions.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance is preferred and professional qualifications (ACCA ACA, CIMA, etc.) is a must.
- Solid management accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced or similar industry.
- Strong proficiency in ERPs, Excel, and other reporting tools.
- Able to problem solve and be attentive to accuracy in financial reporting.
- Able to prioritise and manage time effectively, especially during month/year-end.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to adapt to a changing, growing environment and support the team with ad-hoc tasks.
