Our much-loved products are manufactured in-house, and an exciting opportunity has arisen in our modern Manufacturing site for a Quality Assurance Lab Analyst.
Salary up to £30,000
The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for the execution of quality control testing, equipment management, and compliance activities. This role is integral to the Quality Management System, ensuring that all products and processes adhere to established company and regulatory standards through hands-on testing, investigation, and diligent adherence to standard operating procedures.
Roles & Responsibilities
Be the first point of contact for any quality or compliance issues and proactively turn these around to provide best quality services.
Perform daily calibrations on lab equipment.
Conduct conformity testing on all in-house manufactured products, including pH, viscosity, density, and FTIR.
Perform retest activities and extend expiry dates of raw materials or bulks when required.
Perform routine Environmental Monitoring.
Perform routine Swabbing.
Raise OOS (Out of Specification) reports and initiate the formal investigation process.
Perform Microbiological Risk Assessments for planned/unplanned work in the clean rooms.
Perform investigations into non-conforming products, working with blending and R&D teams to ensure root cause is identified and corrective/preventative actions are in place.
Act as the main point of contact for external microbiology labs. Ensure all microbiological tests are performed for all bulks and finished products and other required testing by external labs.
Requirements
Must possess proven experience working within a laboratory, preferably in a GMP manufacturing environment (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG).
Requires direct, hands-on experience with standard laboratory techniques including pH measurement, viscometry, and spectrometry (FTIR).
Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is highly advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving methodology.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional departments.
Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload to meet departmental objectives.
