Commercial Planner – North America
Location: Hybrid 915 Broadway, New York, NY Tuesday/Wednesday and all other days work from home.
Hours: Typical business hours with flexibility to respond on the retailer’s working hours when needed.

Salary Range: $100,000-115,000 base salary + discretionary bonus

The Commercial Planner is the analytical heartbeat of the Medik8 North American expansion. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for delivering accurate retail and gross to net sales forecasts and balancing healthy inventory levels in partnership with North American retailers. Your mission is to ensure 100% in-stock rates across stores and .ca/.com, managing the flow of our inventory from the UK to our 3PL to Sephora’s Regional Distribution Centers. We are looking for someone who is vertaile and comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Retail Replenishment & Allocation
Act as the primary lead for Sephora’s vendor portals to monitor store-level inventory.
Analyze weekly "Sell-Through" vs. "Sell-In" to identify high-velocity SKUs and action as necessary.
Manage the distinct allocation needs for US and Canada.
Own a stock & sales plan by account, grounded in retail sales forecasts driving inventory need and proactively identify any gaps in retailer inventory.
Build and foster relationships with retailer planning team, partnering with planners to optimize inventory position.
2. 3PL & Logistics Oversight
Manage the relationship with the North American 3PL, ensuring KPIs for "Pick/Pack/Ship" are met for all Sephora POs.
Oversee the logistics of non-sellable items, including sampling and gratis.
3. Financial & Sales Analysis
Maintain the "Master Stock Tracker," reconciling physical 3PL inventory against Sephora sales forecasts.
Forecast and achieve retail and net revenue targets and profitability goals; regularly assess performance against goals and communicate risks and opportunities to senior leadership.
Retail sales will be forecasted bottoms-up and validated with mix of business and side-by-side activation plans. Promotional strategy plans and impact will be key elements of the forecast.
Partner with the Head of Sales to provide monthly "Net Sales" forecasts, accounting for Sephora’s return rates and RTV (Return to Vendor) allowances.
Use retail sales plans and stock & sales plans to forecast gross to net, including deductions and chargebacks.
Monitor "Weeks of Supply" (WOS) at both the DC and store level to prevent "Out of Stock" (OOS).
Advise on dimensioning of new product launches as well as associated cannibalization, where relevant, and assessing exit recommendation.
Provide weekly and monthly reports detailing sell-through and sell-in, including: rankings, productivity, and competitive analysis, SKU analysis, inventory position, leveraging this data for business forecasting.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership, outlining these forecasts and results recommending strategic adjustments as needed.
4. Operational Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Ensure all shipments meet Sephora’s routing guides to avoid costly chargebacks or "troubled shipments."
For Canada: Monitor inventory for Health Canada compliance (Bilingual labeling/NPNs) and manage the cross-border logistics flow.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain to develop, execute and sustain aligned inventory flows. Partner with marketing, product development, IT/Analytics to ensure operational excellence.
Support launch planning process to ensure clear customer priorities, aligned pre-shipment approval and identification of potential shipment risks.
Act as a key stakeholder in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), providing the unit forecast as part of the consensus process.
Requirements:
Strong experience in Commercial Planning, Supply Chain or Demand Planning within the Prestige Beauty sector.
Direct experience working with Sephora (highly preferred).
High level of commercial and financial acumen.
Robust negotiation skills and the ability to leverage them to drive favorable business outcomes.
Excellent strategic thinking skills to make informed decisions and solve problems.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Results-oriented mindset with a proactive approach and a high degree of accountability.
Creative thinking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
NYC-based and comfortable working in a hybrid model (2 fixed in-office days: Tuesday & Wednesday) with limited travel.
