As our Sustainability Engagement Apprentice, you will learn by doing. Working across all areas of our business, you will connect internal colleagues, external customers, suppliers, and local charity partners to bring our sustainability commitments to life.

Contract: 20-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Public relations and communications assistant -Level 4 Apprenticeship)

Working Pattern: 4 days in role / 1 day study (Paid 5 days/week)

Location: Innovation Centre / Aylesbury

Salary: Up to £27,000

The Opportunity

In this dynamic, entry-level role, you will play a central part in driving company-wide engagement around Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) topics. You will combine practical workplace experience with structured study toward a recognized Level 4 Qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Internal Engagement & Communications: Draft engaging internal newsletters, intranet posts, and workshops to educate colleagues on our sustainability targets. Maintain a calendar of global awareness dates and plan interactive content around key events.

• Customer Awareness: Assist our Global Marketing and Social teams in drafting clear, authentic content for our website, social platforms, and marketing materials. Help maintain our Provenance Proof Points to share transparent sustainability stories.

• Supplier Engagement: Support our supplier programmes to encourage ethical due diligence, accurate carbon reporting, and positive environmental impact.

• Volunteering Programme Management: Coordinate our employee volunteering initiatives, from organising community events and promoting opportunities to tracking participation.

• Charity Partnerships: Support ongoing relationships with our chosen charity partners and Beam, coordinating donations and communicating our collective impact across the business.

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrable passion and interest in environmental and social issues, regardless of formal work background.

• Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences.

• Comfort and confidence presenting ideas or information to groups of people.

• Demonstrable time-management and organisation skills, with the ability to handle discrete projects to completion.

• Proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn new systems and concepts quickly.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience or background in content creation, internal comms, social media, or event planning (including personal or voluntary projects).

• Experience collaborating with charity organisations or community groups.
