Demand Planner
Demand Planner,
At Medik8, we set ourselves apart from the competition, leading the skincare industry with innovation, science, and sustainability at our core. We are a fast-growing, B Corp™ certified clinical skincare brand dedicated to formulating high-performance, results-driven products backed by scientific research.
We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and collaborative Demand Planner to join our Demand Planning team. Reporting directly to the Demand Planning Manager, you will serve as the critical operational bridge between Sales, Marketing, Production, and Logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for forecasting demand, optimising regional stock deployment, and working cross-functionally to align product availability with manufacturing capabilities.
If you are proactive, data-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where low ego meets high standards, this is a fantastic opportunity to directly influence global supply chain performance.
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite / 2 days remote)
In More Detail, Your Role Will Include:
Forecast Modelling & Accuracy: Generate and refine statistical baseline forecasts directly within Anaplan, maintaining a continuous 18-month rolling horizon to provide long-term visibility for capacity and production planning.
Forecast Improvements: Partner closely with sales teams to optimise forecast logic, automate reporting, and enhance forecast bias detection to continuously improve overall baseline alignment.
S&OP Facilitation: Present in monthly regional meetings, effectively communicating forecast updates, operational risks, key assumptions, and performance metrics across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
Stock Health & OTIF Assurance: Develop demand plans that guarantee 100% stock health, balance high availability, and achieve 100% On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery while actively mitigating Slow Moving & Obsolete (SLOB) stock.
Regional Ownership & NPD Phasing: Oversee the physical deployment of finished goods into regional 3PL warehouses and lead regional planning for New Product Developments (NPD) and market launches.
Inventory Write-Off Reduction: Proactively identify risk areas, conduct daily sales order reviews, and implement measures to optimise stock holding and minimise write-offs.
Process Evolution: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to automate reporting workflows, enhance forecast bias detection, and streamline 3PL coordination.
What We Are Looking For
Our Commitment to Inclusion (The 60% Rule): Research shows candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often only apply if they meet 100% of criteria. At Medik8, we care about potential and transferable talent. If you meet at least 60% of the essential criteria, we encourage you to apply!
Essential Criteria (What you definitely need):
FMCG Demand Planning Experience: Demonstrable experience in demand planning, merchandising, or forecasting within an FMCG, beauty, personal care, or manufacturing environment.
Analytical & Excel Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex data manipulation).
Inventory & S&OP Acumen: Proven understanding of S&OP cycles, stock health metrics, OTIF delivery objectives, and SLOB stock mitigation strategies.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical planning models and risks clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
Adaptability & Precision: Detail-oriented with high accuracy, paired with a proactive, solution-focused mindset capable of adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-moving business.
Desirable Criteria (The 'nice-to-haves'):
Specialised Software Experience: Practical experience using enterprise demand planning or forecasting software (e.g., Anaplan).
Advanced Technical Skills: Familiarity or experience with programming or data query languages such as SQL or Python.
Regional 3PL & NPD Phasing Experience: Direct experience coordinating physical stock deployment with third-party logistics (3PL) partners across multiple international regions.
